Today’s Tips – Hiring a Florist

The fragrance of fresh flowers always makes me smile
The most subjective pricing of all vendors is a florist. I have seen contracts from different florists offering the same services, same flowers for hundreds of dollars difference. So, on this one, do your homework, ask your planner or venue who they recommend. Make a list of florals that are most important to you and prioritize. Look up which flowers are in season so they will be readily available, inexpensive and in full bloom. Questions to before hiring a florist:
    • How long have you been in business?
    • Are you offering your services to other weddings/events on my wedding date?
    • What would you call your design style?
    • Can I review your portfolio?
    • What flowers do you recommend?
    • What flowers are in season on our wedding date?
SAVINGS: For added value, ask for a free toss bouquet or caterer’s pack (flowers to adorn the hors’ d’oeuvres table, gift table, etc.). You can also ask for flowers to decorate your cake.
